Rugs are key decorative pieces to maintain aesthetic balance in our living room, bedroom, hallway or hall. They are also a solution for those soulless spaces, to delimit areas and, in addition, they are a great insulator against the cold and help us to achieve a warmer environment, giving a feeling of well-being.
It's clear that originally its use began in the middle of winter as a response to counteract the cold. However, its use today has become one of the most IN trends in decoration at the moment. We are talking about the superimposed rugs that are gaining more and more supporters.
Until now, the only option has been to use just one, so it was about occupying the space we wanted to fill with a large rug. However, with the variety of fabrics and types, whether they are wool, long or short hair, neutral or colored, they provide us with a range of possibilities to overlap them.
One of the Main advantages is that in winter they are a great ally against the cold, as we have said before. The second advantage is that to fill a gap in the room you will not have to look for them or order them to measure because what is in style is precisely that they break with the order. In addition, they end up providing personality thanks to the variety of volumes, textures and colors.
On the other hand, the disadvantages are that not all of them are ideal for this type of trend. Those with long and thick hair do not blend properly with other styles and, in addition, can hinder the natural passage of people or furniture, such as a desk chair in an office.
2. The shape of the rugs is fully involved in this. The combination of several of them with a rectangular shape is easy and, in fact, it is the most seen. They are the most sold on the market and we have them in different colors and sizes.
However, the star combination involves choosing a large rectangular, neutral-colored rug as a base and layering another leather one on top. Other great options are rectangular rugs with circular, square, or irregular shapes.
3. Another main rule is the density of the carpet. That is, the flatter or smoother it will be, the easier it will be to marry another. On the contrary, superimposing them thick would not be a great choice, the more volume, the greater the obstacle.
So, we open the doors to flat rugs made of leather, fabric, synthetics or fine wool!
4. And as for colors, we must bear in mind that they are an important point. Not only do they contribute to reinforcing the colors of our room, but they are an important focus where the eyes of your guests go.
In addition, from QeChic we advise you to choose the same color range when the colors are bright and to be more daring when combining more neutral and pastel tones.
5. Finally we will talk about positioning, we must take into account another strong point and its three tendencies:
First, the centered rug, that is, a large rug and a smaller one inside it. These are the least striking visually speaking in spaces where contemporary style reigns.
Second, diagonal rugs. If you want your rugs to take part of the prominence of the room, this is the best, they attract a lot of attention due to their disarticulation. They are perfect for giving an informal touch or bringing the antithesis to an orderly environment.
Third, displaced rugs. It is about placing the rectangular rugs in parallel or perpendicularly. Visually they are disordered, but without being a tremendous chaos.
From QeChic we hope we have given you an inspirational touch for the rugs in your home. Tell us on Instagram or Facebook what style, colours, shapes and placement you would like to add to your home.
